Jack's 6 month session at Lake Bistineau State Park in Doyline, La was one of my favorite sessions from last summer. These summer greens and warm tones are giving me life, it makes me so excited for all the spring/summer sessions to come! This session was a dream, their light neutral outfits were absolutely perfect and complemented the green backdrop so well. White, khakis and soft florals photograph perfectly outdoors (or anytime really!) and are so classic and timeless. Light colors can also help keep you cooler outside which is a nice bonus.
We took this sweet family's photos at sunrise to help beat the June summer heat and it was so worth it. The soft morning light was stunning, the perfect reward for having to get up early! When taking photos in peak summer months (mid June through August), I suggest avoiding taking photos outdoors in the evening (whenever possible) just because it is so hot and humid outside!
Little brother, Jack, and big brother, James, did so well during the session; with some fun playful prompts and exploring the property we captured so many great moments (with a few toddler meltdown moments sprinkled in, lol!) Just keeping it real. It was so fun to see how much Jack had grown since his newborn session, this family booked my Baby Plan "Watch Me Grow" package, which includes lifestyle newborn, 6 months, and one year milestone sessions.
All stages are wonderful to capture during baby's first year, but 6 to 7 months is my absolute favorite age to photograph babies (other than newborns) since they are so smiley, squishy, and starting to come into their own. Their personalities really start to come alive and it is so much fun to capture! Jack wasn't quite sitting up on his own yet, but that was ok! We just captured more images of him with his sweet mama, and that is totally fine with me, the photos of them snuggling together with the golden light behind them is everything.
